Big Update Monday: New Journeys, Reading Series, and Podcast Appearances

It seems like we launched just yesterday. It was actually June of this year, and since then our community has been growing, our members are more engaged, and we continue to think of new ways to use this software platform.

The next big thing is already finished. Sort of. We have to keep it under wraps for a little while longer. We’ll just say that we’re providing a tool for users and also film professionals who join our platform to showcase their work and interests, and we are connecting that to our community. Buckle up.

Some new 2025 paid/member Journeys are online, which you can see over at our Journeys section. For now feel free to review Registration Details or check out SirkenHeimer, Christopher Guest Films, and Frankenheimer’s Paranoia Trilogy.

We also launched our first free Journey — Read Her to Heaven — which will focus on reading about films, which we think is an important part of film scholarship. Our first discussion is with Erica Shultz, author of The Sweetest Taboo, which is a fitting first topic given what we named this series. If you’ve seen Leave Her to Heaven, then you’ll understand.

We also have a submission form for new books for people to suggest, which we will release soon, and our goal is to create a place for people to interact about film books.

We’re also starting to make the rounds on the podcast circuit. Jill appeared on A Very Good Year to talk about 1945 in film. Aaron joined The Force Five Movie Podcast to discuss films set in San Francisco.

Last and certainly not least, we have finalized the business details in order to bring on new Guides. While people seem to be enjoying the Jill and Aaron Journeys, they are just the tip of the iceberg. We look forward to seeing what creative directions are new Guides will be taking us. We hope you’ll join us for the ride!
