Remaining 2024 Journey Updates

Now that we are about midway through Coming of Age films, we have four monthly Journeys remaining for 2024. We now have official dates and plans for all of these, including some events around the holiday seasons, which we hope will not conflict with too many of our subscriber’s plans.

Please note that these are only Journeys that Aaron and Jill are leading. We are bringing on some Guides and it is possible that there will be others in 2024. There definitely will be in 2025. More to come on that.

Classic Suspense – September

We are extremely excited for the upcoming Classic Suspense Journey. Due to some travel at the beginning and end of September, we are doing three Wednesdays in a row. These films should be relatively breezy, and the Chapter 2 films will be intense. You can register here.

J-Horror – October

Speaking of intense, buckle up for J-Horror. These will be pretty well spread out over the month, and we are hoping to have the third chapter on the evening before Halloween. This, of course, depends on the availability of our subscribers. We can change it up if that would accommodate more people. You may have seen that Arrow Video is releasing a J-Horror boxset towards the end of the month. Because of that, this journey may bleed (pun intended) into November. You can register here.

Films About Food – November

November is trickier because of the Thanksgiving holiday. These films are going to make us hungry, so we need to make sure we eat some food. We are only planning two calls, and then a live event for Chapter Three. We’ll encourage people to post about the Thanksgiving films in the Discord or forums (TBD whether we will create a forum). What we’re most excited about is having a live watch-along on Black Friday of The Last Waltz. We can hear some good tunes, talk about the rotoscoped Neil Young “coke booger” and make fun of Van Morrison’s outfit. You can register here.

The Best of 2024 – December

With December being a prime release month, we’ll be celebrating films that have already been released and the big December releases. Since there’s a lot of travel in December, we’re only having one call, but expect some Discord events throughout the month. We would like to utilize threads or forums (TBD whether we will create a forum) to talk about a lot of these films. We’ll also keep up with year end lists, and get a head start on Awards Season 2025.
