We are thrilled to announce that we have brought on several terrific people to the platform.
We call them “Guides” and they are going to run their own Journeys and/or Online Classes. Some of those have already been announced and are available for registration. Others will be soon. We know what each Guide plans on covering, and it’s a treasure of riches. The programming will role out over the next couple of months.
This list is alphabetical:
David has podcasted with Aaron and Jill numerous times, and has been part of our family at CriterionCast. He’s always had his own personal journeys through film, and he’ll continue those here at CineJourneys. David brings a thoughtful and non-judgmental approach to how he looks at artists and performers, and he plans to cover some interesting figures here.
Derek has already announced his first online class, and he released a wonderful trailer. Registration is currently available and Founding Members/Magic Hour Subscribers get a 25% discount.
Imogen is a respected scholar and has appeared in numerous publications and disc releases. She is a brilliant writer and has experience teaching online classes. Her first class for CineJourneys will be about Powell & Pressburger. Registration for that should go up relatively soon. Imogen gives Founding Member and Magic Hour subscribers a 25% discount, and Magic Hour subscribers get a 10% discount. Additionally there will be two free registrations drawn at random for each of her classes.
Tiffany has been on-air talent at TCM and a content director at GIPHY. She is working on a special Journey on a beloved actor. That announcement is coming soon. She has other plans in store, including a famous piece of literature, and she might share her expertise in online media someday.
Matthew Ellis talked with Aaron about his journey thoughts. He has a curiosity about how the conventions and continuity within film, how it began, and how it has evolved (or not) over the years. His topics are catnip for cinephiles, and this video is highly recommended to learn about the questions he’ll ask.
Please also note that this is the first wave of Guides. We are bringing on a total of eight people, and there are only six in this post. The other two will be announced relatively soon. We have something else looming in January that we’re very excited about, and after these Guides launch their programming, we’ll bring in the second wave of Guides.
