Announcing AudioJourneys

We did not intend to announce this today, but things happened.

Earlier this year, we secured the domain of AudioJourneys.com. There is nothing there yet. We have been sitting on it until we had begun work on that site, and started programming journeys and other social events. We decided that we wanted to launch and announce this site when we had something to share. As it happens, as of today, we are starting our first AudioJourney “thing.”

We are kicking off a Music League, which is most easily accessed via our Discord AudioJourneys channel. You’ll want to login before clicking that, and here is our Discord Map again. Some of you might have used Music League before, and it is a lot more fun with a larger group. Basically it is a game where a few topics are chosen, people submit songs anonymously, and people can vote and comment on the songs. When the submission period is over, the votes are tallied and there are standings. Trust me, people want to win these things, and we might even give out some prizes. Please note that you need a Spotify account to join. The free version works.

We plan to eventually do a lot more with AudioJourneys. First off, this timing wasn’t expected, but it’s important to share that all memberships for CineJourneys will carry over to AudioJourneys. If you subscribe to one, you’ll get access to both. We are officially ending our LAUNCHPARTY promotion on August 7th, which is when we are preparing to announce new Guides.

We want to have audiophile specific Journeys, but we’ll most likely start with crossover Journeys. For example, we have thought about David Bowie and The Beatles as good candidates for film and music Journeys. Just like with CineJourneys, the possibilities are endless for AudioJourneys. As we onboard guides, they might decide to launch a Sound + Vision journey.

Plenty more to come, but for now — voila, AudioJourneys is coming.
